| Resumo | Generally in the South Region, some cases of precipitation anomaly are on the phenomena of great scale, therefore it is very important the study of the atmospheric circulation better to understand the processes that shape the climate in this region. During all year, main the responsible ones for the precipitation are the cold fronts in this area. In this work, a study of the atmospheric systems was made that had provoked dry in the South Region in the January months the March of 2004. In the anomalies of the winds in 850 hPa and 250 hPa, during the studied period, was observed the predominance of na anticyclone (circulation in the counter-clockwise direction) in the Atlantic Ocean, which did not allow that the deriving systems of Argentina could reach the south of Brazil, or either, they were turned aside for the ocean, with this had not contributed for the rain occurrence in the South Region of the country, in this period. RESUMO: Geralmente na Região Sul, alguns casos de anomalia de precipitação estão ligados a fenômenos de grande escala, portanto é muito importante o estudo da circulação atmosférica para melhor entender os processos que modelam o clima nesta região. Durante todo ano, os principais responsáveis pela precipitação são as frentes frias nesta área. Neste trabalho, foi feito um estudo dos sistemas atmosféricos que provocaram estiagem na Região Sul nos meses de janeiro a março de 2004. |
